Hi! I'm Pratik Panda.

BETA: This website is Work in Progress.

About Me

Thanks for visiting my website! My name is Pratik, and I am an Arizona native. Born and raised in the Chandler/Gilbert area, I graduated from Arizona State University with my Bachelor's in Computer Science in May 2020 and my Master's in Computer Science in May 2021. This site is a work in progress, so if you have any questions or comments, please feel free to reach out!

Chandler Lions Club

In my free time, I volunteer with the Chandler Lions Club, helping to give back to the community I grew up in. Catch me taking free Santa Pictures in downtown Chandler, leading a costume parade of Chandler children for Halloween, or zooming around Snedigar Park in a golf cart providing snacks and drinks to the soccer and baseball children (and their parents, of course!). Additionally, I am the Leos Advisor/Liasion for the Hamilton High School Leos Club, helping our teenagers give back to their community.

I am also a technical advisor for the DevilFish Robotics club at Arizona State University. This club builds semi- and fully- autonomous underwater vehicles to compete in international competitions like RoboSub or MATE. For most of these students, this is their first foray into robotics, and their first experience into an application-based project. As someone who went through that same experience when I was in this club at ASU (under the name NASA Space Grant Robotics), I help guide these students so that they can be the most successful versions of themselves.

Software Application Development Engineer (2021-)

At Intel, I work within Supply Chain on Master Production Scheduling (MPS) software. Primarily, I work on the reporting capabilities for OneMPS (a mid-range supply chain planning solution) and FSCO (an immediate-term factory scheduling solution).

ASU Prepatory Digital

Software Application Development Engineer (2020-2021)

ASU Prep Digital wants to revolutionize online learning by creating a custom online learning platform to plug-and-play into industry standard Learning Management Systems (LMS). As a part of ASU Prep Digital, I led a team of 4 developers in building a proof-of-concept serverless application to allow for delivery of educational materials to K-12 students handling 50 users in a short span of 4 months.

Digitize Paper Forms (2019-2020)

Software Developer (2019-2020)

Paper forms are the enemy of productivity. They exist today as an unnecessary intermediate between humans and machines only to be manually inputted into databases. I, with support from PayPal, am developing a machine learning model for converting any paper form into an electronic interface capable of capturing user input for fields unique to the original paper form.

Underwater Robotics at ASU (2017-2021)

Software Developer, Sofware Lead, Treasurer, Advisor (2017-2021)

Every year, Underwater Robotics @ ASU (formerly known as NASA Space Grant Robotics) participates in international competitions like RoboSub AUVSI and/or MATE ROV. These competitions require the development and creation of a fully underwater vehicle that is designed to complete various tasks.

2021-Present
After graduating from ASU, I transitioned into an advisor role to assist the next generation of students participate in the robotics club.

2019-2020
I lead the development of all tasks involving computer vision. These tasks revolve around autonomously locating objects in the pool and are mostly object localization tasks. I am leveraging Tensorflow and Darknet to train multiple machine learning models to get the best object detection.

2017-2019
The competition these years were manned competitions. As a result, we needed a GUI for the pilot of the robot to see what was going on. I was in charge of the development of the GUI, and converting the raw data inputs into a usable format that the pilots could understand. I leveraged wxPython for the GUI and numpy for the data analysis.

Amazon Web Services

Technical Intern (2019)

AWS Professional Services helps companies migrate from their current data solutions to AWS. I helped develop an internal application to take the data from already-completed migrations and house them in a manner that allows non-technical people to view and edit this data. We designed and implemented the entire tech stack for this application, from the backend database to house this data to the frontend user interface that customers can use to see the data in a readable format.
